Fantastic keyboard.

Before I updated the firmware, it was doing some weird things.

It would select a bunch of text and then another key press later, poof, gone. Plus, the question mark would work, but not the slash. Both are on the same key.

Use the firmware on the left from the photograph.

It was easy. Just download, and double-click the file for the update. Five seconds later it is done.

I updated the firmware and everything was corrected. But, the fix did not last. It was only was fixed for a few hours. Maybe, because it has three different connection modes? I ran the firmware update file a second time, and it has now been almost a week with no problems.

I was ready, with hundreds of dollars worth of keycaps, parts, and switches to upgrade this keyboard when it arrived.

But, it is awesome. I am not changing anything.

The keycaps don't cause my fingers to feel like chemicals are being leeched into them.

All the keys are perfectly aligned. It sounds great. It was like $50.

I am thrilled and want to try all of the versions of this Plus model. But, I'm not doing that unless they send them to me. I will buy them eventually if I "need" some more keyboards.

Even, the space bar is fine.

I'm not changing anything on this keyboard. No lube, no $200 keycaps, no expensive lubed switches, or greased stabilizer bars. I am not even switching out the stabilizer bars for upgraded ones.

I may do a little "something" to the space bar.

It's fine now, and doesn't need any changes.

It's genuinely a great keyboard.

The cable connection works, the dongle works, and most importantly when in wireless or Bluetooth mode, the keyboard does not "time-out", or "go to sleep".

If I press a button on the keyboard, after not using the computer or keyboard for a long time, it immediately works, and the computer responds.

I had an Epomaker TH80, and the Bluetooth would go into a "slumber" if nothing was typed for a few minutes or hours. So, I would start typing, and twenty seconds later words would show up as it, came out of hibernation.

I don't need that, at all.

This one is normal and stays connected.

I don't know if it has any specific software to program it, exactly how you like. Or, if it works with existing keyboard programing software.

At first, I thought it was too good to be true. Because it was doing weird things. Like, after pressing a bunch of buttons my screens rotated sideways, and I still don't know how to fix it.

The keyboard is already programmed well. There are tiny pictures on a lot of the keys to represent what different "hot-key" actions do. They are enacted by the function key, and then that key or the windows key and then the key. Maybe, there are other combinations too? I haven't searched for a complete guide, yet.

Great keyboard.

I like the layout of the keyboard.

The up, down, left, right arrow with the function key works well. The keys are the correct size, and it is easy to use. Just a right pinkie finger for the function key in the bottom right corner and then easy presses for the arrow keys.

I bought the one that has Plus in the name.

This keyboard is great, and I am very happy with it.

I will leave this one as is. But, I have a lot of switches and keycaps that I need to put on good keyboards.

I might buy another, to upgrade.

This one is a perfect gift for someone looking to get into mechanical keyboards.

It can be upgraded with different parts, easily, as this is a hot-swappable key-switch keyboard. The base structure is fine, and even without "expensive" upgrades, it could still be upgraded, cheaply. For, example sound. For, me this keyboard is very nice, and I am extremely happy with it. Keyboards go into the thousands of dollars, and this keyboard is not a compromise to me.

I wasn't excited that the upgrade firmware was an executable file, and not a program with keyboard mapping software, and keyboard firmware capabilities.

But, it was the easiest firmware upgrade I have ever done for a keyboard.

I had to search on a couple of different websites, because this Plus model was not listed on one of the websites.

This company didn't pay me, and no one asked me to write this review.

I just know how expensive keyboards can be, and how much overpriced stuff there is.

Like, with a lot of companies, this product could be great today, but later manufactured to "save costs". However, the one I got is nice.

I almost bought a different keyboard, and then just before purchase, noticed the right shift key was tiny. Nobody, wants that.

I wrote this long review, because I have spent a lot of money on keyboards, and I like this one, a lot. Especially, for $50.

The plastic case does not bother me. Because, the keyboard is made well.

This keyboard is heavier than the HHKB must have keyboard. But, that one it can get expensive quick. Because, you don't want their Bluetooth model, or their lubed "silent" version. Just the base model and do everything yourself. The Bluetooth Hasu controller is the most impo...

Very good keyboard

I got this a week ago.
nicely packaged and fast shipping.
There is a dongle on the back to plug into your PC, or it has wifi connectivity and can work on ipads and phones etc.
You can change the RGB colours or turn them off, you can also change the modes, some letters may flash but that just means you have to connect it to a device. It’s small and sounds nice. You have to charge the keyboard sometimes but the battery lasts quite long, it comes with a charging cord and keycap puller.
No problems so far!!

Great

I don’t like using these types of keyboard but this one was worth my money.

great keyboard overall

This is a great looking and sounding keyboard, has a lot of standard lighting functions, fun to type on, and very compact for my desk. The only problems I’ve had have been the 2.4ghz connection getting spotty when the battery is low. overall I recommend it!

Overall very nice but still not sure I like 60% keyboards

Item arrived fast, ahead of schedule, and was packaged properly. The keyboard itself feels nice (not a keyboard dude so take this with a grain of salt) and is very clicky (not sure if that's good or bad).
Connected to a Windows machine via cable at home and when traveling to work 3 times a week using Bluetooth to connect to MacBook Pro.
Not using backlight at the moment.
Still thinking if I had to get the Nuphy 75% instead, but it's double the price (and also not 60%, so not really comparable) so not sure it's worth it compared to this item.
Will take some time to get used to the 60% layout in terms of typing (doing mostly coding and a little bit of gaming)

Everything’s perfect except the arrow keys

I should have paid attention while ordering but since it’s a very important aspect, I’m going to talk about it.
Everything from sound quality to build quality is perfect. The sound isn’t too loud but kinda soft which in my opinion is more pleasing as compared to most other keyboards.
The only think that’s really annoying is the need to switch between “arrow key” mode in order to use arrow keys since this keyboard doesn’t come with separate arrow keys.
If you’re someone who doesn’t used arrow keys that much while typing paragraphs, or if you only need arrow keys and not type so much- then this would be a great choice.
Another thing I noticed, it doesn’t work when wired, you have to use either the dongle or Bluetooth to work with it.
Just my two cents.

love it + nice sound

i have been looking for a compact keyboard with quiet switches for a while because my other keyboard was way too loud it became annoying. i love how it can be both wireless (in two ways) and wired. i use it to game so i connect it to my laptop then output it to a monitor, making it very convenient. also, the RGB addition looks very cool when gaming at night.

pretty good

my first ever keyboard, works just fine on mac but some shortcuts such as the volume don’t work. i think it’s a recognition problem on the laptop’s part, might work fine on windows. can’t wait to use it on a windows laptop while gaming. loud switches but im kind of getting used to them, they’re swappable so i like that part.

I bought this for the colors...I use it because it’s amazingly good

I have to say this is the best looking keyboard I have ever seen. It is perfect.

Everything works right out of the box. I didn’t have any problems with the 2.4G or the Bluetooth or the wired connection. The SkyCyan switches and the key caps feel and sound great. The USB-A through port is a really great addition to a really great keyboard.

Thank you RK for making such a wonderful keyboard. I highly recommend RK keyboards.

A lot of keyboard, even at 60%

This is a problem. I already have a favorite keyboard, my Royal Kludge RK84 Pro, but I wanted to see what all the rage was about with 60% keyboards. I might get it now.

I notice the size difference, but it is intuitive with the exception of the cursor keys, which are always on, you will have to use the Fn key to use the right Alt, Ctrl, etc. which is the opposite of what the keys indicate. The RK linear SkyCyan switches are much improved over my RK linear browns, and overall it is a much quieter keyboard. It is also lighter.

Overall this keyboard is very nice for the price. Wireless with a dongle, wired for use and charging, and 3 Bluetooth options, a USB hub, RGB, and some nice linear switches. You won’t find much, if anything, in this price range with those features. I only wish I could change the angle, but this keyboard doesn’t have any adjustments for that. The switches on the back over the bottom are a nice improvement, though I’m still not sure why the wireless dongle option is labeled “G”

This might not replace my work keyboard, but I think I have a new favorite gaming keyboard. If you need to save desktop space, enjoy a default height keyboard, and can use those features, you cannot go wrong with this keyboard.

Sounds Great Out Of The Box & Even Better When Modded!

For $75 this keyboard is a great beginner board for people looking to get into the custom keyboard hobby! The board is super easy to disassemble, it comes with a key cap/switch puller and it even has foam already placed in the bottom of the case so it sounds pretty decent out of the box. The stabilizers are decently lubed as well. A mod I would recommend for this board is the tape mod (put masking tape on the back of the pcb, I did 2 layers) and it will start sounding really nice. I haven't lubed my switches yet and I'm not sure if they are pre-lubed but with just the pcb mod the sound of this board went from a maybe a 6.5 to a solid 7.5, especially with the spacebar and backspace key, they sound extra thocky. Overall the skycyan switches are also really smooth and responsive, I tested them out by playing apex legends and they felt great! Just keep in mind that the LEDs on this board are north facing so cherry profile keycaps are not recommended.

worth it

Great quality for the price I paid. Been using this for a little over a year now and I’ve had no problems with it. The color palette is amazing and goes great with my set up.

Great for what you have to pay.

It's a great keyboard for a low price. OK, I love my Crush 80 and Rainy 75 too but this board sounds good and has a good typing feel. I bought this as my portable or carryon keyboard. It's not expensive so if it gets dinged in travel I'm not out much money. Even though it's all plastic it feels pretty sturdy. Just be aware though that it doesn't have arrow keys on it. You have to do a little keyboard kung fu to use them. It also just worked when I plugged it in. I didn't have to do any weird setup stuff for it to just start working. So yeah, it's not a premium keyboard but it's really good for the price. I would give it a good recommendation.

Everything is good except shift + up arrow

I purchased this product 3 weeks ago and loved it. Pros are many 1- it is very pretty 2- it is portable 3- connection is stable 4- it is compact 5- as a coder all keys are reachable to home keys (F amd J) so you dont need to move your hand to reach any key and your typing speed is very good (typists know what I am saying)
But unfortunately it has just one con which is very big for a coder : keeping shift down and moving cursor around to highlight text works for any arrow EXCEPT UP ARROW. So anytime you need to highlight part of code upward you need to use mouse which is very sad for a coder or typist.
I tried to reach to company and shoot two emails without any response. When you keep shift key down and try to use up arrow (FN + /) it types ? character. Also I reached to Amazon support he told me restart your pc and try to connect with wire or wireless dongle but the issue remained there.
So sadly I had no way but return it. So if you are not typist or coder I recommend this KB to you but if speed is important to you no.
Thank you

Good keyboard for the size.

I'm just now venturing into mechanical keyboards and I am really liking what I am seeing and feeling. The RK61 is a very small compressed keyboard. I wouldn't normally even consider it except for a specific function I need it for at work. As a keyboard to use at home except for maybe gaming, I didn't like it. Just too small and the need to press FN to access certain functions wasn't my cup of tea.

I like how typing on it feels. It has a longer press but it is very responsive and springy. I thought I liked the clicky keyboards but I'm finding out that I don't like them. I just like keyboards that have a longer press rather than all these cheap non-mechanical keyboards that feel like you are pressing nothing.

I'm using a 75% keyboard from another brand but I think I actually like the way that the RK61 keys feel over how the 75% keyboard feels. It's not to say either is bad but if I were to type on each and choose 1, I would choose the RK over the other brand. maybe the answer is a fuller sized keyboard for home in the RK brand.

I like the macro programming capabilities of the keyboard. That's the main purpose I wanted it for. To be able to program macros onto keys for use at work. The software is easy enough to figure out. Had to tweak the delays in between keystrokes but that's pretty easy to do in the app.

I love that it has 3 ways to connect. Via 2.4ghz and the usb chip, via bluetooth and plugged into a usb port directly. it's also quite a solid piece of hardware for such a small keyboard.

I might look at the bigger option for home.

fun and not serious option

I bought it for fun.
It is way to loud.
If they would assume people would be typing a lot
they probably would set up the user story a bit more realistic.
It is cute, not really somethign for Linux tho.

Good stuff

I have 2 of these now and my only complaint is I wish there was a wider switch variety as well as keys that light shines through. The keys are solid so it's more of an underglow instead of the letter glowing. I've replaced all the switches and key caps on one but the other is left stock. Stock switches have a soft click
