RK ROYAL KLUDGE M87 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard

I’m absolutely in love with this keyboard! The typing experience is so smooth, and it makes a very satisfying 'clack' sound that's not too loud but gives great feedback. The build quality feels very sturdy and premium, and the color scheme is unique and looks fantastic on my desk. I appreciate having both the volume and brightness knobs; it’s a small detail but super convenient. I’ve tried a few mechanical keyboards, and this one is by far my favorite. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their setup for work or gaming.

Beautiful gaming keyboard with USB small and sweet.

Super tolle Tastatur.

Klare Empfehlung.

The sound is nice to my ears. You can definitely hear it from the living room when I'm in my office, but our doors don't really block any sound. It's a sound that has been commented on, but not complained about.
The metal knobs are nice, the volume is conveniently placed and the other knob controls the settings for the keyboard.
On the other hand, the power, stop, back, pause, and skip buttons have all started sticking after a year, which is a shame because when they worked nicely I enjoyed them, the extra buttons were the reason I chose this keyboard. It's decent but I don't think I'd buy another RK Royal keyboard.
The keys have a little resistance and feel nice under my hands. It's not so much that I get tired of typing after a while.
The colors of the keycaps are nice and the RGB works fine. It's nice that you don't have to download software to control it, it's all contained in the keyboard. Not unique to this brand but definitely something to look for.

This is a great keyboard. The UI isn't the best, but it's manageable. The keys are not super clicky but just enough tactile feel. The LCD screen will accept any GIF you send to it and thats really cool. Fully removable and changeable switches. You get a lot of features for the price.

I switched the key caps with NGE themed caps and put part of the intro as the LCD display.

Great quality and well worth price. The wireless mode is a bit of a struggle to get working, but one setup it was fine. Keys are clicky and bit noisy so be aware l, but I love it! Solid build and colours are awersome. Very happy with my purchase.

Outstanding quality, design, and sound. Exceeded my expectations.

Initially, I had some concerns about the delivery, as the system showed a delayed arrival date. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the product arrived even earlier than expected, right at my doorstep in Colombia.

My first impression of the keyboard was excellent. Visually and aesthetically, it’s flawless: its retro design, reminiscent of 90s-style keyboards, blends beautifully with modern features like customizable LED lighting and an intuitive screen that makes navigating functions easy.

As for the sound—it's simply outstanding. I had never used an "enthusiast" keyboard before, aside from a few Redragon models, and the difference is remarkable. Typing on this keyboard is an incredibly satisfying experience thanks to the smooth feel and pleasing sound of the switches, which truly live up to the term "creamy."

For the price, it’s hard to find anything comparable. In retail stores here, older-generation models often cost twice as much. This purchase offers exceptional value for money, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to elevate their typing or daily work experience.

Love everything about this keyboard: The way it feels, the different color lighting is awesome, the customizable gif/picture you can put on the keyboard, the connection options, and the quality is great! The battery is pretty good with lighting up, havent tried it with it off. That will be next. I would definitely recommend getting this keyboard if you are a gamer!

RK ROYAL KLUDGE M87 Keyboard Overview

The packaging was well-thought-out, including useful accessories like keycap removers, additional switches, a USB-C cable, and a USB dongle. The keyboard itself feels high-quality and sturdy, with a nice weight to it. After disassembling it, I confirmed there's no added metal to artificially enhance the weight, which speaks to its authentic build quality.

Performance & Features

The included cream switches are smooth, linear-activated, and comparable to MX Reds, providing a comfortable typing experience. Since the M87 is hot-swappable, I replaced the stock switches with MX Blues for that satisfying clicky feedback.

Battery life is solid—about two weeks on a full charge using the wireless dongle. Connectivity is a strong point, with tri-mode options: 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and USB-C wired. Switching between these modes is seamless. The RGB backlighting looks vibrant and pairs nicely with the keyboard's color scheme.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I’d rate the RK M87 4.5 out of 5. It's a high-quality keyboard with great features and versatility. The only area for improvement would be extending the battery life to about a month per charge for even more convenience. Otherwise, it’s an excellent choice for anyone seeking a solid, customizable mechanical keyboard.

The typing experience was good, enjoyable even. The keys are clicky and responsive.

The main problem is that the keycaps are very cheap and break easily. Used the keyboard normally for 3 days and already had a keycap break off. But after I reported to the seller, they offer a free new package of keycaps. The after-service is good, hope they can improve their quality control.

Love the look, feels great when typing, the most satisfying click when typing not too loud, not too soft. All around everything feels great when using!

A well worth keyboard for the price, comes with thocky creamy switches. The keycaps really look good, typing is awesome, the RGB is bright with southfacing switches, that supports 3-5 pin switches. Been using this to play MW3 and it's been doing awesome so far. I like how I can use the knobs to set my RGB,Bluetooth settings, etc. I really wanna add a tape mod and lube the stabilizers, but I feel the stabilizers are good as it is. My fear of taking this keyboard apart are the knobs and media buttons, kinda scared i might break of the knobs when I take it off the keyboard cause they really feel that is put in the keyboard securely and that you don't have to worry about it coming off, like a keyboard I had in the past. But overall keyboard is awesome for the price

I would definitely buy this keyboard again to sale for my business. Trust me you won't regret getting this keyboard

Key Points:

- LEGO sounding keys. Smooth as butter
- Doesn’t require software, but there is some listed on the page
- Screen is a bit dim
- Screen has far more options than I expected
- Screen makes for connections to devices the simplest I’ve ever seen
- Magnetic dongle that stows away at the top of the keyboard
- South-facing LEDs
- Switches are smooth hot-swappable and come with spares
- Stabs are *chefs kiss* I was worried they would need to be replaced.
- not very enthusiast-friendly. Sealed keyboard that would need to be pried open
- 2 stage keyboard riser.

The aesthetic is… a thing. Not sure how I feel about the design. The keycaps are double shot but I’m not sure if they’re PBT or ABS. For a while now I’ve seen a lot of keyboards start offering little screens on them and I kind of scoffed at the idea as being a bit silly why waste your money on that feature? This keyboard offers multiple ways to connect, and that is where the screen shines, in my opinion.

I have an old wireless K65 keyboard for another computer in my house. I’m not explaining this to make this RK look better for the review, but this is what stood out so much to me. I was able to use the dial, select BT Mode (BT1) on the screen and press in on the dial. Boom, pairing. The screen shows the remaining battery like your phone and if you want to switch to the 2.4ghz instead, use the screen and switch to 2.4ghz wireless. If you want to go wired, set it to wire. I needed BT1 and it has a mode selector to set the keyboard up for WIN or MAC. I do my reviews on my MacBook and write this review with the keyboard.

You can set the time, animation, and keyboard colors all on the settings menu without installing software. Right out of the box.

I’d have preferred a cleaner design on the keyboard. No need to advertise the brand on the top and more branding above the arrow keys. I daily drive a $400 keyboard and that one has been pushed aside for this one for now. I find I type better on it and I miss being wireless. The screen with the time on it is nice when I’m in a game or watching a movie.

My biggest gripe I’m knocking a star off for is no easy way to open the keyboard to customize it. I’m sure you can find a way to take it apart, but it has no screws under the feet (I checked) and nothing under the risers. This I think was a huge missed opportunity to allow enthusiasts to mod this keyboard. I

This "budget" keyboard is incredible! End of note.

Seriously! Great sound, dazzling and bright RGBs, and it thocks right out of the box! I appreciate the dedicated volume and menu knows. They could have even cheaper out with plastic knows, but both are metal.

I also have an RK96, Roccat Vulcan, and an AJAZZ 992. This one beats them all in terms of features, typing feel, and sound! A frankly stunning keyboard that I have no doubts will jump in price once seller's realize how great it is.

It feels great I haven’t used it much but I put this many stars cause I didn’t pay for shipping and it still delivered the next day very nice and feels great so far
