RK ROYAL KLUDGE RK98 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard

Since their first wireless keyboard (G87) that came with a Chinese Pinyin manual, I have been impressed by RK keyboard build quality. Solid, responsive, click feedback, and with a slight heft but not too heavy. The kind of feel that makes your fingers happy. I will keep buying RK keyboards for as long as they keep making the best keyboards for a good price.

I initially got this keyboard because my boyfriend hooked my Macbook up to a mounted 42in tv! So I wanted to get a fun mechanical keyboard to use with my new setup and ordered a very cheap one to start. I went through 3 $25 keyboards before I landed on this one. I kept telling myself I didn't care and that the cheap ones were fine but they were NOT! So after literal hours and days of looking through the internet to learn what I did, I picked this beauty. After that I really thought my hunt was over but then soon after fell in love with keeb's. Since getting this board i've learned a lot and have done 2 minor mods that can be done by anyone. I ended up settling on swapping out the switches for EPOMAKER Leobog graywood v2 switches and I swapped the caps crystal pink jelly's. I still want to open it up for a tape mod but this board has good bones. If you go with the trendy boards those are great too but this is a great board to start out the hobby with! PLUS its full size for less than $80 and you cant beat that.

disclaimer: I am not a gamer, I am a student who loves to type lol

Was skeptical for the price. However, this keyboard is awesome. I love it. It's no where near as loud as my old Corsair mechanical keyboard. I plan to get custom keys made for this new board eventually but for now it matches perfectly with my theme. I just plugged and it was up and working great. Few presses of FN+PrtSc to cycle through the RGB settings till I found the static option in blue and I'm happy. The LEDs are much brighter than my old Corsair RGB. So far, I absolutely love this new board.

I love typing on this keyboard. The light tactile response and gentle click make for a great typing experience. I appreciate that you can choose from two levels of lift for the keyboard. The manufacturer did include four extra keys and a key puller for when needed.

Setting the backlight is challenging. It seems you need to step through all the options and select one. Then you can select the backlight color with another option. There are further options to send the speed and brightness. This seems like it would all be easier to do through software. I tried downloading the driver package from the link noted on the Amazon page but I got many errors and finally gave up. I then went to the manufacturer web site but they don't show this model as one of the download options. I ended up just playing with the options from the keyboard itself and get a backlight that works for me. Thankfully, I really don't need my keyboard to breathe at me in RGB colors.

The keyboard feels very solid and well-constructed. I have not run into any issues with key responsiveness or sticking. I have only connected to BT so far but that was easy peasy. I turned on the keyboard, my PC noticed, loaded it and I was typing away. I like the keyboard and if the manufacturer made it a bit easier to access the software I would add the fifth star.

Great 100% full-sized wireless keyboard.
It connects by either a small included wireless USB dongle or by Bluetooth. Using the dongle, installation was effortless. I just plugged in the dongle and instantly I was typing. It did not need to install any additional software to function, but drivers are available to customize the RGB lights if desired. I'm a big fan of the red switches and keycaps feel high quality.

My old work keyboard was getting worn out so looked for a good mechanical keyboard to replace it. This keyboard is comfortable to type on and the keys arnt super loud ! I like that it has multiple ways to connect to it including a wired connection which is a must for me as I don’t like wireless connections.

Very nice keyboard with perfect switches. Only thing I can say is the battery was swollen after a few months. Switched the battery with a better one with the same volts and it now lasts for months in a single charge instead of a week

Excelent compact keyboard, I have bought 3 after ruining two by my own doing. Fairly robust, though I do have some reservation about the keycaps as they tend to wear out and split after about 2 years. Its completely serviceable so long as you are fine with replacing your caps or opening it up after the warranty expires.

Great keyboard ! Love the feel and responsiveness
Great customer support :)

Was soll ich Euch sagen?

Love these keyboards! I’ve got one for home and one at work. All around great compact keyboard that is still full size. I wish the keys themselves were backlit but not a deal breaker.

So nice lights, colours and very satisfying noise when typing! You can keep using it as it charges so it's great! I use it to game every night and to work from home a couple of days a week and only have to charge it about once a month for a couple of hours! You know when it needs charging because the led lights start dimming to save battery!

Have had it for over a year and no issues so far(Have even dropped it from my desk once or twice), had no issue changing the keycaps to some cuter ones. Battery lasts like 2 weeks of constant use, though I don't use the rgb light often so YMMV vary for people that do.

This is a lovely keyboard which feels great. It’s not to noisy when typing and the lights are fun!

Great product for the price

It's all very good, except:
- Had a key break where it connects within the first year. This was replaced for free under warranty. :)
- Had trouble with inputs dropping and repeating, but remedied by plugging into a different USB port. This probably wasn't the fault of the keyboard.
