Really Solid

This keyboard really is a great, lower budget option. It has amazing build quality and feels like a much more expensive keyboard. The stock Red switches feel and sound perfect. All of the connection types work great. RGB settings are easy to set and control to your liking.

Good KB but need a better 2.4 GHz dongle

I love it, love the style, form and material quality, but I think could be better if have a better 2.4 GHz dongle cause sometimes in Valorant can't play good while is wireless

Great Keyboard Overall

Really good keyboard for the price. It feels solid, lots of rgb presets to choose from, works well with no issues or lag, the battery life is also good.

For those with signalrgb you can get it synced up to whatever pattern you set you desktop case lights to.

Great keyboard over all, however if you want the true mechanical feel there are pricier options out there.

Great keyboard

Love the size

Very good especially for the price.

This is my first mechanical so with a grain of salt this is the best keyboard I've ever used. Sure it's plastic all around but it still feels solid and remarkably heavy. The switches feel great out of the box and it's super easy to mod. I'm not good at stuff like this but doing the tape mod was quick and easy. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone. Also the RGB looks amazing! Being able to take off the shroud around the bottom is pretty nice too. With some pudding keycaps this thing will be RBG 7000.

amazing affordable keyboard!

absolutely obsessed!!!
i was looking for a nice, affordable keyboard with red switches that i could just add my keycaps too and this is seriously the best option! i had a yunzii keyboard but it was too large and i wanted to try a different brand and i am so happy i went with this one! the size is awesome, the set up was less than 5 minutes and it came fully charged. THANK YOU FOR MY AMAZING KEYBOARD :D

Good starter keyboard

I’ve been using this keyboard for about a week and can say that it is really good for the price. I like many of the features on this keyboard along side with its compact size. Taking apart the keyboard is really easy as well. The only issues I have with it would have to be the lighting only having five brightness settings, and that some areas were harder to take out switches. This could’ve just been me taking them out incorrectly. Overall good product for someone getting into custom keyboards.

Mostly Great!

I really like this keyboard. I did zero modding besides my own keycaps. 10 months into using it, the usb-c port is loose, so it will lose connection if I bump it, but it will work in wi-fi mode I guess. Overall it's a good starter keyboard. It was one of the few 75% with a white shell and rgb when I bought it. There might be more options now, but this is still a great price for what I wanted.
Edit: Bumped up a star because customer support contacted me and tried to help with my usb issue.

Very decent keeb for the price. Extremely moddable.

This is a solid board overall. Extremely moddable. The switches that come stock with it are knock off gateron reds but weren’t necessarily a con. They felt okay and sounded hollow with the included also cheap feeling keycaps. I wanted to mod this board before I even ordered it and I’m glad I did. It’d be a good starter board for anyone looking to get away from the lackluster bigger brands and get into this hobby.

I lubed and put real gateron red switches in and bought some double shot keycaps and it changed its look, feel and sound dramatically. It was a fun little project and I will continue to mod this board further. But not 100% necessary if you need a cheap well rounded keeb.

The software is janky and not very intuitive, but it’s better than nothing. Good job, RK. Looking forward to modding more of your boards.

Great keyboard out of the box, INCREDIBLE customer support

I purchased this RK84 keyboard back in 2021 and thought it was a pretty good keyboard out of the box. However, I recently had some connectivity issues with it randomly disconnecting from my PC. I reached out to Royal Kludge for product support with low expectations, since they are not as well known as the major peripheral brands like Logitech and Razer.

This is where I admit that I was wrong. Royal Kludge blew me away with their level of support and responded to my inquiry within hours. They walked me through testing the keyboard and updating the firmware before acknowledging that there is a defect and helped me set up a replacement.

I received my replacement within days, and I was shocked at how much better this new RK84 felt compared to my original purchased in 2021. It's clear that they made some changes to the product and the current iteration is much improved. The keycaps are thicker, have a nicer rough texture and have a more satisfying bottoming out sound. The spacebar and modifier keys also have no stabilizer rattle at all!

I thought I liked my RK84 when I bought it in 2021, but I love how much they improved it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this board to anyone looking for a very usable 75% out of the box.

Huge shout out to Royal Kludge for developing such a great product and having top notch customer support!

Great Beginner Board

Great starter board for anyone looking for a cheap, nice keyboard.
This is a 75% Keyboard with ABS plastic key caps and RK Red, clear switches. 3 Bluetooth connectable presets, wired and dongle supported.
Easy to customize to your liking! Definitely recommend!

I LOVE THIS GIFT!!!!!

My brother bought this for me as I’ve been wanting it for a longggggg time and it’s lived up to my expectations. I was concerned for the rgb since I saw many said theirs would consistently flicker, but in my case it didn’t happen. There are many settings that are customizable with the presets but the software also allows for more customizations! I’m honestly in love with this keyboard. I got the red switches and they sound much nicer and quieter in real life than in the video. If you’re thinking about getting this, DEFINITELY GET IT!!!!

Solid keyboard

I really like this keyboard, good build quality and beginner friendly to upgrades
I have upgraded it with a foam mod and got Akko ocean blue switch in it I wasn't a fan of the stock red switches, the stock keycaps were really bad cheap abs plastic making it greasy and there was a bad shine over 3 weeks, so I upgraded to Akko wob keycaps.

Uneven painting

Very solid and heavy built.

pros
- very bright RGB, easy to use and change without requirement of a software
- fast switching between different Bluetooth devices. I don't have to manually switch within my pc like most other bluetooths.
- USB C port and 2 USB A ports
- Additional keycap/switch puller, extra switches included , magnetic feets. removable frame to give you that floating keycaps effect.
- 3 different ways to connect, wire, Bluetooth, and dongle.

cons
- This is probably just a personal preference, but this keyboard sits sort of high and I feel like I need to use some sort of wrist rest. I have short fingers so I often find myself levitating my wrists just to type.
- windows key had a weird dot, which you could see in the photo.
- keycaps look unevenly painted, the top of each keys are more see through
- stabilizers aren't great. They're loud and a bit scratchy. I've opened my keyboard to check and they come pre-greased, but they either need to be replaced or lubed more, especially my spacebar and enter There is quite a bit of rattling from the stabilizers.
- bluetooth connection stops at around 4.3-5 ft
- Keycaps wobble a bit, noticeable if you're gaming and need a tight grip on your wasd keys, not noticeable when typing.

This is my first mechanical keyboard so take this review with a grain of salt, but overall for a budget and hot swappable keyboard, it's pretty decent. Definitely needs some foam as the keys sound a bit hollow, but it's not too bad. I got the red switches and they're okay. Way louder than I had expected and definitely doesn't feel as nice as cherry mx switches.

Not a bad board but opted for another.

Bought this along with the Keychron K2. At the end, I returned this board.

Quick thoughts:

Pros:
Great backlighting with the RGB. The lighting patterns I prefer on this board and it's definitely brighter than the K2 RGB backlight.

Included passthrough USB's are a very nice feature to have.

Dongle option instead of just Bluetooth (note, that dongle does have a short range on it so you want to mind where you plug it in. Preferably on the back of your monitor if your monitor has USB ports on them.

I bought the Gateron Red switches and the switches on the Royale are definitely quitter than the Red's I have on my keychron.

Cons:

Out of the gate the led for the P key was flickering. You can see in the included photo. The top keyboard is the Ryoale and the bottom is the Keychron K2. Was NOT please to pay full price for this board only for it to not be in 100% working condition.

The stock keys themselves are a bit harder than the Keychron K2. While I like the sound of the RK, I prefer the feel of the K2.

The build quality on the K2 (if you do get one, get v2 with the aluminum body) is far superior than that on this board.

The keycaps themselves, while they are backlight compatible, the icons on the F keys aren't. Just the text is backlit. K2 text and Icons on those are both backlit. That attention to detail is important.

The wireless dongle, again while present does have a very short range.

The Royal is smaller than the K2 and I have big hands, so I felt a bit cramped when typing. No issues at all with that on the K2. I'm typing from it now.

No stock keycaps for macOS. While this will work via bluethoth or dongle, it would have been nice to get a set for the macOS as I use both devices. K2 the initial keys that come with it are macOS focused, but have swappable sets for windows.

In the end, especially with the led on the P key being defective, this one had to go.

Not a bad board, just quality isn't all that there (at least with the board I received), the feel of the board, and the details just didn't stand up to the other board I was comparing it against.

YMMV.

Good keyboard, very modular, couldn't get the software to work

I got this to replace my old imac keyboard because I use windows now, and I wanted to play around with custom keys and maybe replace the switches at some point. In that regard, I really like it! (See my picture with the normal keys next to the custom keys I got) The lighting is cool too. But I really wanted to mess around with the custom software to try more custom lighting and especially macros, but once installed it couldn't connect to the keyboard, full stop. It's a real bummer, and while not vital to my workflow, anybody looking for custom software should look elsewhere.

Everything great but feet are different size.

Everything about this keyboard is fine for me, considering the price, the only problem is that one of the feet are smaller, resulting in any keystroke on the left side causing the entire keyboard to wobble which is very annoying.
